How does Awhile work?
Awhile is a focused mobile browser. It opens Instagram inside itself and hides the sections you asked it to hide by injecting CSS. Instagram itself is never modified.
Can Instagram ban my account for using Awhile?
No. Awhile is a web browser. From Instagram's perspective you are simply visiting instagram.com.
Are my credentials safe?
Your login cookies stay on your device, encrypted in the platform secure storage. Awhile has no server to send them to.
Why not filter the Instagram app itself?
Mobile operating systems do not let third-party apps modify another app's content. A browser is the only way to filter Instagram without jailbreaking or rooting.
Is Awhile on Android?
Yes. Awhile is available on both iOS and Android.
What do I get with Premium?
Messages Only mode, Following Only mode, the session timer, full usage stats, and up to 10 accounts. One-time payment of 9.99 EUR.
Is Premium a subscription?
No. It is a single, one-off purchase. No auto-renewal, no monthly fee.
Can I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Yes. Use the Restore Purchase button in Settings, signed into the same Apple ID or Google account.
How do I open the menu inside the app?
Tap with two fingers anywhere on the screen, or use the floating bubble, whichever you picked during onboarding.
Do you collect any analytics?
No usage analytics are sent off-device. The stats you see inside Awhile are computed locally from your own sessions.
Reporting a broken filter
Instagram changes its HTML from time to time, which can break a filter until we ship an updated selector list (usually the same day, over the air, no App Store update needed). If something looks wrong:
- Quit and reopen Awhile - selectors refresh on cold start.
- If the issue persists, email a short description and your iOS or Android version.
- Screenshots help. DM screenshots do not - please never send them.
Refunds
Purchases on iOS go through Apple's App Store. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. Purchases on Android go through the Google Play Store. Request refunds at play.google.com/store/account. We can confirm your purchase record, but only the store can issue the refund.
