Awhile vs Undoomed

Choose the Instagram specialist or the multi-network toolkit.

Awhile and Undoomed reduce distracting social content in two different ways. Awhile is built exclusively around a direct Instagram experience shaped by your selected filters. Undoomed starts from a broader network hub and covers several social platforms. This guide explains the trade-off without pretending that one app fits everyone.

Both apps are created by ARCKONE for two different scopes: Awhile focuses exclusively on the Instagram journey, while Undoomed supports seven social networks.

The quick verdict

Choose Awhile when Instagram is the main problem you want to solve. It opens straight into Instagram with your selected filters applied and builds the whole interface around Feed, Reels, Explore, Stories, Messages and Following.

Choose Undoomed when your distraction is spread across several services. Its officially supported network catalogue currently includes Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, Threads and X. That breadth adds a hub and more setup, but it keeps several networks in one calmer browser.

Feature matrix

Same goal, different perimeter.

The useful question is not which logo wins. It is whether you want an interface built exclusively around Instagram or one place for several networks.

What matters Awhile Undoomed
Best fit People who primarily want Instagram without its most compulsive surfaces. People who want one calmer entry point for several social networks.
Network scope Instagram only, by design. Seven officially supported networks in the current app: Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, Threads and X.
Daily entry path Launches directly into the last Instagram account and applies the selected filters as the page loads. Uses a home and network hub, then opens the selected network instance in its in-app browser.
Instagram-specific controls Hide Feed, Reels, Explore and Stories. Premium also adds Messages Only and Following Only flows. Instagram is one filter catalogue among several. Available controls vary by network rather than centring the whole product on Instagram.
Accounts and sessions One Instagram account on Free, up to ten with Premium. One instance per network on Free, two with Plus and up to five with Pro, with separated web sessions.
Usage insight On-device Instagram session stats, with Premium showing a seven-day view and time by Instagram section. On-device usage insight. Free includes a seven-day preview; Plus and Pro unlock the full 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day views with time by network.
Home-screen widget An Android widget with a shortcut to each of your accounts, opening straight into that account. Account names are hidden while the app lock is on. Android only. Two Android widgets: shortcuts to the visible networks, and a usage summary. Android only.
Appearance Eight accent colours — gold, amber, coral, rose, violet, sky, mint and lime — chosen in Display settings and applied across the app. Gold is the default, and the picker is free for everyone. Two accent palettes plus light, dark and system themes, unlocked with Plus or Pro. Its widgets are always dark.
Paid options Free tier, 9.99 EUR lifetime unlock, or 2.99 EUR per month after a three-day trial. Store pricing can vary by region. Free tier plus Plus and Pro packages. The current purchase catalogue supports monthly, yearly and Pro lifetime options; live regional prices are shown by the stores.
Privacy model Awhile does not send viewed Instagram content, credentials or login cookies to ARCKONE. Its session data, filter settings and usage stats are stored locally. Limited anonymous product analytics and privacy-scrubbed crash diagnostics are enabled by default and can be disabled in Settings. Usage stats and network sessions stay on-device. Product analytics and crash diagnostics are consent-gated; purchase validation uses RevenueCat when needed.
Performance evidence The product removes navigation steps by opening directly into Instagram. No controlled render-speed benchmark against Undoomed has been run. The broader hub adds a selection step. That does not prove that a given web page renders more slowly.

Which one should you choose?

Start with the problem you actually have.

A narrow tool is valuable when the target is clear. A broad tool is valuable when the target keeps changing.

Awhile

Choose Awhile if...

  • Instagram is the service that pulls most of your attention.
  • You want to land directly in a filtered Instagram session instead of choosing a network first.
  • Keeping DMs and followed accounts matters more than blocking Instagram entirely.
  • Messages Only, Following Only and Instagram-section statistics match how you want to use the app.
  • You prefer fewer platform choices and an interface dedicated to one job.

Undoomed

Choose Undoomed if...

  • You need help with YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, Threads or X as well as Instagram.
  • A shared hub for several networks is more useful than a direct Instagram launch.
  • You manage multiple network instances or want usage reports grouped by network.
  • You accept that filter depth and web capabilities differ between services.
  • The current seven-network catalogue covers the services you actually need.

Honest limits

What the table does not hide.

Both apps use mobile web experiences so they can remove selected page elements. That creates useful control, but it also creates trade-offs.

Awhile trade-offs

  • It only covers Instagram. It will not reduce distraction on YouTube, TikTok or another network.
  • It loads Instagram in an in-app browser, not in Meta's native Instagram app.
  • Instagram can change its page structure. A filter may temporarily need an updated selector.
  • Awhile cannot prevent you from opening the native Instagram app through another icon or link.

Undoomed trade-offs

  • The network hub and broader settings add decisions before you reach a specific service.
  • Filter depth varies because every network exposes a different web interface.
  • The officially supported catalogue currently covers seven networks, not every social platform.
  • A broad catalogue cannot give every network the same Instagram-specific workflow as Awhile.

FAQ

Questions before you choose.

Are Awhile and Undoomed made by the same company?

Yes. ARCKONE created both apps for different scopes. Awhile is the Instagram specialist; Undoomed is the multi-network option. The separate products let each interface stay aligned with its job.

Is Awhile faster than Undoomed?

Awhile reaches Instagram in fewer product steps because it opens directly into the last Instagram session. No controlled render-speed benchmark has been completed, so we do not claim that Instagram pages themselves render faster.

Which app is better if I only care about Instagram?

Awhile is the clearer fit. Its filters, navigation modes, account handling and section-level statistics are designed around Instagram rather than a catalogue of networks.

Can I use both apps?

Yes. For example, you can use Awhile as your everyday Instagram client and Undoomed for the other supported networks. Their settings and sessions are separate.

Do either of these apps modify the native social apps?

No. They load supported web experiences inside their own browsers and hide selected web elements there. They do not rewrite the native Instagram, YouTube or other social apps installed on your phone.

Method and sources

How this comparison was checked.

The matrix was checked against the current Awhile and Undoomed product configurations, their official websites and their official store destinations. It describes stable product scope rather than a synthetic score. Store rollout can lag behind the current product configuration, so availability may vary by installed version. Features, prices and supported web experiences can change, and the store remains the source for live regional availability.

Last verified: 31 August 2026.

No controlled speed, battery or memory benchmark was used. The comparison distinguishes a shorter navigation path from web rendering performance.
